Well the logical mind just takes over. Why would I want to remove a perfectly good pair of spindles off my 64? OH! to put the disc brakes on.

Disc brakes are actually the one nod to modernity I would consider on my '63. Now that I am thinking about it, this would be a good way to have discs while having the complete drum brake setup already on spindles to keep with the car. |
That's the idea of them. It should keep the 5 lug cars 5 lug, since front drum parts are getting so hard to find. Well, that and the "hoarders" don't want to get off any parts for those trying to rebuild a set of wide 5 drum brakes. |
That's odd. I've found brake sourcing completely the opposite. It seems with today's social media reach, brakes and parts for earlies are fairly abundant. Sometimes pricey, but at least fairly available.
Its great to see ISP making these simple sets available. Safer is better. _________________

This is exactly what I've been looking for so that I can install my BerT3 dropped spindles. I wanted to keep the 5 lug,did not want to modify the spindle to fit the T1 kit, and the CSP kit is too pricey. Way to go ISP! _________________ Drive 'em!

I was just trying to find out if there's been any feedback on fitting them to regular disc spindles. I hadn't really thought of the lowered spindles.
If they're looking for a "crash test dummy" I'm willing to give them a try, and tell them my thoughts. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

Wont the spindle placement alter the caliper placement to stock? |
I don't think so, since I believe Bert used the spindle shaft itself to locate the caliper on those he had made. That dimension shouldn't change.
I wonder if these disc kits still retain the inner dust shield. I only mention it, as all of the other wide 5 conversion kits delete it. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

I doubt dust shields are included - they're not really needed anyway. I have them on my daily driver and the only thing they're good for is picking up rocks and making a god-awful screeching noises.

I have found the same - early drum brake parts are pretty easy to find now that I don't want them. |

Very nice, but where is the information about possible change in track after the brakes is upgraded? I would like to know that before placing an order. |

No, what I was getting at was being able to use the stock dust shields that are already on the car.
Good to hear Eric, as my son and I were talking about that last night, and wondering if there was any offset in them. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

I already run CSP.
My post was more to point out that important information is missing in the ad. I would also want a picture of the brakes installed on a car. |

Reviving this thread.
I went the route of getting disc brake spindles for my ‘63 and using the AC Industries (So Cals kit) with my stock 15 inch wheels and there is interference on the caliper. Like bad interference. I tried clearencing but after grinding off a good 1/4 inch of material there is still rubbing. My only other option is to grind the “hump” on the inner rim down where it is still scraping. Anyone else have this issue with these calipers? They seem to be a generic type 1 replacement and not purpose designed for early type 3 using a stock rim. _________________ Go Reds! Smash state!

Yeah, I don't know that I'd grind on the wheels. How about spacers? _________________ Немає виправдання для війни! Я з Україною.

Considered that, but I’m not sure how much offset the disc set up has. But I guess if there is no other option… _________________ Go Reds! Smash state!

I have the EMPI 3/8" aluminum spacers on my square.
Your stock wheels should fit fine unless you lower it drastically.

Stock height.
Guess I’ll get the spacers. _________________ Go Reds! Smash state!
