I have decided to keep going with the wiper work. I have had more units sent to me than when I had a add up for restoration. I want to thank all of you for your support. I was feed up as you can see in my response above. I have found it is not about making money. It is about helping other members out. I have given freely parts and help that is what it is all about.
Thanks Jon,Greg,Everett for your help and thoughts it made a difference in my decision to keep going on. I have to keep going for the 2 year free fix or replacement I give with all my purchases. DL |

Don is a great guy. He had a crankshaft that I wanted and as it turned out I had some wiper motors that Don wanted. We worked out a trade and everything turned out well. I am very satisfied with the deal. _________________ 1965 Beetle sedan

I sent a Type 3 assembly for repair/refurb. A week later it came back awesome! He replaced the cracked sleeves that I didn't even notice. Totally clean, painted and lubed. Good as new! Thanks! |

i sent don a wiper assembly that was out of my 65 beetle.
the car was totally disassembled when i got it.
one pivot are was welded so i took the assembly apart powdercoated the pieces then sent it off to Don.
with in a couple of days he had it back together and working great.
along with a break down of the price. parts used and total
i highly recommend Don, either buying one of his units or having him go through yours _________________ Cruiser pedals for sale (see my ad's)

Don is great to work with. He sent me a NOS wiper motor that he converted to 12V for my car within a couple days.
He was also willing to take some of my core motors to reduce my cost.
He is way faster and much more reasonable on price for wiper motors than the online parts suppliers I got quotes from. |

I bought a 2-speed wiper motor and switch, all wired and ready to go, for my '63 Beetle. He threw in wiper shafts and other related parts for free.
Parts shipped from Oregon late on a Saturday afternoon and were sitting at my door in Southern CA on Monday.
It doesn't get any better than that!
Thank you Don. _________________ (ignore the X's ) |

I received my NOS wiper switch yesterday from Don, packaged well and FAST shipping. Just from this one transaction I got a very good vibe from the excellent communication (response from questions to the shipping info) now it looks like I'm going to have to spring for the whole wiper unit!
Thanks Don! |

When I posted an ad for the wiper motor gaskets, which I was fabricating, I received a message from Don West, The Wiper Guy. He encouraged me to continue and urged me to fabricate gaskets for other motors. When I ran into a problem with a Thing wiper motor, Don told me to send it to him. He went through the unit, corrected my mistake, reassembled and repainted the entire unit and tested it for an hour! I was happy beyond words! It arrived today and we immediately took photos of it "for posterity". It looks great! It takes all of us, each with his individual talent, to make the Volkswagen Community work like it should. Porsche is probably jumping up and down, watching as all of us contribute. Don's contribution certainly makes a lot of us happy. The next time it rains and your wipers are swishing the water off the windshield (yes, VWs ARE supposed to run in the rain), think of Don West, The Wiper Guy! Kudos, Don!

just as easy as the first.
i will never mess w/ another wiper assembly again as long as Don continues to offer his stellar units. _________________ Air Cooleds Only |

I had a wiper assembly restored for a 54 Oval and purchased a newly restored set for my 68 Ghia. Don does great work with a very fast turnaround. He even sends back the old parts that he replaces wth the refurbished unit.
I highly recommend his service. _________________ 68 Ghia Regatta Blue Convertible

Scored a rebuilt 12v 2speed motor & switch from Don. He answered all of my questions in a timely manner, shipped quickly (well packaged) and also took my old motor (as a small trade in towards the newer motor) to give it a second life. His product is clean and well documented with tags labeling the connections. He is who he appears to be, professional and trustworthy.
Definitely added to one of my watched sellers. _________________ - e
