Phoenix and I ride out everyday after work to pick up my daughter from the in-laws. Here we are in our new 78 transporter.

I took my boys camping this weekend.
Caesar loves riding and sleeping in the bus, and loves when we go camping! He usually figures out what is happening as I'm loading up the bus and he goes bonkers.
He wore himself out last night running around and eating the leftovers from tinfoil dinners and crashed out on the back seat. When I folded it out as a bed, he jumped on my blanket and wouldn't move, so I had to get another out! Poor old dog.

This is my dog 'Diesel' giving my sister and me moral support as we continue to work on our campers (I have a '73, she has a '76). I had hoped he would be able to make our first camping trip but it's not looking good. Diesel has cancer and most likely won't live long enough. But he's enjoyed hanging with us every 'Bus Day'! |

Sorry to hear that. We lost our boy to cancer last summer. He also loved his bay window. Enjoy every moment with him and good luck with both of your projects. _________________ 53 Canadian standard oval

Just found myself missing my family dog tonight. Here are some pictures from this year with him.
--
Here, he's pointing at the vacuum leak I haven't caught yet.
Shown here, pissed of at god for not giving him opposable shifting thumbs and feet long enough to reach the pedals.
And of course, he's a good Westy napping buddy too.

Sounds like VWWESTYMAN needs a pick me up and Bear's (see above post ) story usually brings a smile to people's faces...and this thread needs to take a happier turn, so here goes:
After 11 years someone in Louisiana left him at a shelter, they usually get about 48 hours Bear got lucky and the Great Pyrenees rescue people got him out and fostered him about a 100 miles from me. I'm looking through petfinder and see his face and know right off he is intelligent and loyal. I pass him over twice because he's old, has problems with stairs and he's being treated for heart worm.
Then I say what the heck the old boy needs a break and fill out the application. The foster Mom drives him the 100 miles to my house to see if I'm suitable, yea that's how it works. She asks if I know what I'm getting into? So I point out that my Bus is 46 years old my Volvo is 22 years old and my house is filled with antiques. "Quality has no fear of time" and I don't mind a project. Half hour into the 3 hour interview she says she will recommend for adoption and two days later she brought him back for good Even waived the adoption fee because no one else showed interest in the old boy.
He drools buckets, sheds bushels, dug two bear sized pits in the backyard (common behavior for his breed) so I was happy to see that, needs to be medicated , needs help lifting his 80 pound butt into the Bus, smells even worse when wet and can be stubborn as hell ! and will sleep through EVERYTHING! except for the sound of my car keys But when I see this face everyday , I wouldn't have it any other way
People see us together and can't believe It's only been two months. So if I get another two months or two years. It'll all be worth it.
He seems happy.
