Dude you rock!

VWwestyman, sorry to hear that. It always sucks, no matter if its sudden or they linger. At least he was happy!

Aww, Bear does certainly look happy! I'm glad you got him and will help him finish out his days having fun, however many that may be. I hope he has a long time with you!

Oh, and thank you for all the well wishes and such, everyone. It's been a rough, kinda lonely week but I'm working through it.

This is my new dane, Jackson. He went along for a ride to Kansas City and back to pick up Stuart from the airport.

He's about 11 months old, so he's got a little more growing to do!

Cool dog Dave. Looks like you will need to add a Vanagon to the fleet so that pup can have some leg room Laughing

Here's Mira, adopted her about a year ago. She was so scared of busses and cars in general back then but now she loves it!

She sure does. What was your trick to get her comfortable with the noise and movement of your bus?

Here is our rescue dog. She is a 6 year old Boxer /cane corso mix. She has only had a few rides in the bus, but will jump in any time we open the door. I can hardly wait for some good weather for some adventures.

For the first year of travelling, for every trip, and still today for very long trips, i get her in a big metal crate with a dog bed in the bottom. I'd use the dog bed first in the house so that she'd get her odor on there and it would feel familiar. I also used the crate for a while inside the house, giving her treats when she's go in there to make her feel confortable. And i did get her to get in the car on her own with the same technique. Get her to jump in the bus, give her a treat, then get out. Next time, close the door for 2 minutes then give a treat and lots of congrats etc.. Basically try to encourage positive behavior as much as possible..

Thanks Roland. That's great information.
This thread is now in my Top Ten favorites. Dancing

Any other canine co-pilots out there? WilliamM? Is your dog riding around in Blue yet?
