Saw a few late 60's early 70's NSU's at Carlisle import show two years ago.. newer Prinz's are way better looking and almost sporty, hard to find parts for though.....

Trust me... It runs and drives NOTHING like a Notch... More like a rollerskate made from coffee cans.

What a pile of crap!!! I cannot believe someone would have the audacity to compare that eye sore to an ingeniously engineered and beautifully styled masterpiece!!!

Q: Why do Trabis have heated rear windows?
A: To keep your hands warm while you push it.

Who says there was no humour in the GDR?

Was ist den difference zwischen dei Waschlappen und der Trabant?

Der Trabant Eiert um die Kurven,
und
Die Waschlappen kurvet um die Eier.

This joke is not funny in English.

Note: OssieDeutsch—Eiern=wobbeln (as in eggs, which wobble)

Ossie culture is being lost. It's a sad thing.
Anyone know of a Trabi in the US? Or did they all get sent to the paper recycler in 1992?

I don't know that the Trabant was ever sanctioned for the US. I doubt it. We don't like Communists because they don't buy our products.

There are a handful of Trabants in the USA. I've got a Trabant 601 that I use as a daily driver in Los Angeles. And I love my Trabi!

You can find a handful of others at:
http://www.geocities.com/trabantusa/

But I'd estimate only roughly about 50 Trabants in the USA total.
