I'm converting my '64 Beetle to Type 3 wide-five rear brakes.
I have bought good, used backing plates, as well as new drums (already had them machined), wheel cylinders, shoes, springs/hardware and adjustment hole plugs.
I'm assuming I can use my relatively new Type 1 star adjusters.
My question is about the bar that separates the shoes at the top, and the bar that activates the parking brake. Are these the same as a Type 1? I assumed they were, but now I'm having second thoughts.
It won't be going together for a while, so if I need to chase down these parts from a Type 3, now would be the time to do it..... _________________ '64 Bahama Blue Beetle / steel sunroof

That bar is the same as the one on a type 1( along with the spring and clip, that go with it).
Also, the emergency brake lever and as you have mentioned, the star adjuster, are the same as on type 1's.
