All Super Beetles (1302's and 1303's) with US-specs were in a way a 1302-S or a 1303-S because all had the 1600cc engine. They were not officially desiganted as such, however.

One quirk you will find is US models did not have front disc brakes with the 1600cc engine for some reason. Another quirk is US Beetles (1302's or standards) for the 1971 and 1972 model year had specific taillights. The fender-mounted turn signals were larger already also.

You can see mine for comparison. (I changed to a clear turn signal lens which is totally aftermarket.)

Good looking German-Look, Bro. In the Philippines, Superbeetles are called 1302s (1971 to 1972) and 1303s (1972 unwards), with the same designation in Europe. However, all Super Beeltes here were equipped with disc breaks. Hence, U.S. version Super Beetles are rare here. They were imported, and not SKD bugs.

Thanks! I like your collection of air-cooled. Your 1302 will make a nice German Looker.

Thanks, bro. Well, that was my original paln when I bought this 1302s. I was looking for a porsche cup twist. But, may be I ll install a 16 inches Fucsh wheels to have that period look. The KG cabrio is cool, But driving the 1302s is more sporty due to its road handling characteristics. The Fasty is my latest project. Long way to go still.
