FOR Sale:
Adult driven 2006 Toyota Vanagin Westphalia Synchro. This is the full weekender with all the goodies; stove, fridge, and sink".
I'm selling because: wife says it has to go (aka wife- wins ya know). Also, I need money for school, and I really don’t use it anymore. That being said, it runs great, however, the camping gear is all there, but I have never used them, so I do not know if they work." I think it even had a frame off restoration done to it by the previous owner.
It is fully equipped with air-conditioning, but I do not know if it works. It leaks some coolant, but you do not need to worry because they all do that. The body is in mint condition except for some minor surface rust.
The vehicle has 567,233 original miles on the original aircooled waterboxer engine. Although this is a lot of miles there is no need to really be concerned because those miles are 90 percent highway miles. |

I like when the what-it-needs portion is just a $10 fix that the seller hadn't gotten to yet ... but earlier or later in the ad he admits to not have driven it in months.
How 'bout "Too much to list" ... then says, e-mail or call for the list.
Right up there with "don't know if a/c works" is "just needs a charge." Yeah, right. A $500 charge for a new compressor.
And then there's the sad "too many projects" reason for letting it go. Translation: Too daunting of a project for seller to figure out.
"My loss is your gain."
"The odometer just stopped last week."
"Just needs a tune-up."
"Appraised at $50,000."
"Needs TLC" ... which apparently it never got before. _________________ Now: 2003 New Beetle Turbo S / 1990 Single Cab Transporter / 2014 Tiguan R-Line 4motion / 2013 Tiguan S / 2002 Golf GLS TDI

In some cases this is true though...

I was thinking the same thing....
Then I read it again, and thought it could either be a really big motor, or a really big catbox.... _________________ '69 Mike

Here's one from Craigslist today:
Wow...musta been a Vanagon prototype, but hey, the fire was 'small', just needs easy stuff like rewiring...and presumably fuel lines... _________________ 1985 Vanagon GL / homebrew camper (daily driver)

Yeah, I did...
86 westy with a suby 2.2
Put an ad here for 8500...one response, but nothing came of it
Put an ad in local papers...no response
Put an ad in Car Trader (from San Diego to S.L.O) no response
Put it on ebay, and it went for over 12,000 |
