VW Fact #776: Changes for the 1964 model year included: Knob-type plastic closehooks replace the metal hooks for safety.

I bet they would yellow up a bit if they were left out in the AZ sun _________________ Somewhere there is a jar with your name on it!

Don't know about as early as '64 but most '67s had the mount for an optional 3 point harness. |

I don't believe they ever were from the factory. The body pressings for the Standards and de Luxes were similar enough that it seems most (if not all) Standards got the holes and nutplate so that coathooks could be installed.
I can't comment on Kombi's _________________ The greatest obstacle to discovery is not ignorance, but the illusion of knowledge

Plastic repop parts, made in the wrong color such as those being "too white", can be painted close to correct using SEM. I use two of their colors. Either super white (deceptive name, as it's def. not bright wht.) or phantom white. $10 a can or so at auto paint stores. |

Cool. Do you know which color White is the correct color for the rear hatch plastic spring covers? _________________ How to Post Photos

Do some of you later model deluxe owners use the chrome hooks or just stick with the cheapo-plastic ones? (pics please) _________________ Looking for SO34 parts.
