cigerette lighter where the ashtray goes??

was there ever a cigerette lighter between the pods where the ashtray goes in a 52 split?

my 52 has a later style cigerette lighter (US car type) where the little ash tray goes. it looks just like the ashtray housing but holds a lighter socket

accessory or did someone create this in the 60s
the car has been sitting since 74
