Ive noticed a little oil puddle on my engine tin. left side of the motor under the distrubutor. where should i check first? would it be safe to make a 200 mile trip? lost about half a quart over the last month.

It could be coming from the distributor or the fuel pump. Or it could be the oil cooler is about to let go.

I was getting ready to go to a show in the morning. I was going over the car to make sure its ready when i noticed it. should I make the trip? cleaned it so i can try to see where its coming from but running out of time.

I can't say.

Stop after 20 minutes and see if its still leaking. Minor leaks are OK to drive with.

Could be the O ring that is on the distributor shaft.

You can probably buy one at the show.

I will be in a caravan with about a dozen cars. we are making a few stops on the trip up. i will cheak it every time. seems minor. this is the first long trip in this car. motor only has 2000 miles on it. I did just replace the dizzy.

so its deffently the oil cooler. anybody know what size the two nuts are on the bottom of the oil cooler? its a non doghouse 1600 SP motor.
