Well that is a start Long-roofs. Now sometime today start putting similar things in a box or I prefer 5gal painters buckets from Home Depot. Set them aside and form a nice clear path. This will get you to open the bus door and prioritize. Make a list and tape it to the window and cross off tings as you go. We know you can do it, now get out there. BTW put the celebratory beverage to one side and treat yourself after you cross off several items on the list. Wink

Your bus is super nice and needs you now!

Eric, do we need to have a shop party and a mass cleanout effort to put that turd back on the road? Having missed last weekends shenanigans, I feel the need to make up for it.

Linda, no need for lists, What is needed is sunshine for motivation. The 55 will see daylight again soon, I am sure of it.

Can't believe how much work you stripper people perform. Should you add this photo to https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=259661&start=520 ? Is there some kind of opening roof on that?

Wait. Im confused. Where'd you find this one now? Cool

This bus made the good deals thread. It was posted out of Little Rock and Skim swooped it before I could. Curse you Skim! Just kidding. I didn't need another anyway.

Jasco stripper to get the first top 3 layers soft and a dull putty knife. Don’t use a sharp knife like putty knife or you’ll dig up the SWR . Then there was only a coat of grey primer on top of the SWR. That came off using laquer thinner and green scotch brite.

Yup That’s where I first found out about it. Was weird because people thought it wasn’t a GD because of the cut wheel wells and deluxe trim was missing. That was the least of my worries lol. Truth is the guy found a mid 90’s OJ Bronco he just had to have so he put the bus up for a fast sale. Not sure why he was being so lazy about it but it took him over a week to finally pull the ad down.

I installed a 66 latch fo my 66 engine lid but it doesn't catch my 67 apron strike plate. Is the 67 strike plate different than the 66?

Looks like you need to get a hammer & tap the vertical part more rearward... to be more vertical.

Kind of analagous to making this adjustment:

You're alive Jake! You and Corey know about the Beefcake party in May? That is the time to come down. Will be better than 2010 'mustache rides' party Smile

Currently we are doing the very same work! with the exception that we are digging for L360 sea blue original paint. Very Happy
