Me too! It made quick work of the arm. It was part of a lot of BMW tools and parts. |

So we decided to go camping in Utah. Brice Canyon first for a few days, then Zion. Man, it takes a long ass way to get there so we stopped at the Vegas for the night. This morning we got up way early and hit the road. Stopped for a good break in a town called Providence in Utah.
While munching on a sammich, I see a phatchick drive by, with a Dormobile top to boot!
It turned into the Walmart, so after we were done I drove there, waited a bit and the owner came out. We talked a little and then he tells me about this vw show happening THIS Saturday!
So, we are at Brice already. We’ll camp here 2 days then try to make it to the show. Hell, when are we going to be here again at the same time! Might as well do it! _________________ Some people are so busy being clever they don't have time enough to be wise. |

I used my '59 Double-Door SWR Panel to run a bunch of errands including a trip to the county recycle center to get rid of a bunch of old household hazardous waste, old florescent light bulbs, etc., etc. It was fun to scoot all over town in the old girl, and we got lots of waves and "thumbs up" from observers.
The Bus (older photo)...

be sure to tell everybody that this is the only car you ever owned, from new... daily, of course it will blow their minds, and perhaps help with the "mythos volkswagen" _________________ regards

No biggie but I did the 1000 mile oil change, read the tea leaves, and adjusted my valves on my fresh singleport then pulled a magic trick on myself.
I use a combination 13mm wrench to pry down the bail. Even though Bill May taught me the old school rag method I still do it with the wrench/pry to pop the bail. I've probably popped hundreds of times and I just get out of the way and let the wrench fall down while keeping my fingers out of the way.
I had finished the 1-2 side at .006", cleaned the cover, put on fresh cork and snapped that side up. Onto the 3-4 side the wrench popped and diss-a-fricken-peered! It was nowhere. I felt and looked at the top of the valve cover under the engine seal, felt and looked at the beneath the valve cover on between the heater box, felt up the frame rail, everywhere around the floor and anywhere.....gone wrench....weird....sheesh. Couldn't go any further even though I had other wrenches I had to figure this one out.
Finally slid all the way under with a torchlight and huge ass mirror and it was no where on the engine or under it. Finally I looked higher up and there was the dang wrench where the magician had hid it.
Never happened like that before.

Have you considered simply starting with a nicer bus? I don't know what your skills are, but the race is easier if you can see the finish line. If you are not a runner, don't start off doing a marathon. |

We could not find room at any close campgrounds so ended up moteling it. Here’s keeping an eye on the Dormy.
And here it is once again front and center at the show, as I always do!

Likewise!
Not only did they pick the Dormy for a local club choice, but I got the long distance award too! A crispy hunny bill!

Zion is nice. Sometime you are not supposed to go over 55... even if you have the horsepower _________________ regards
