Does it look similar to "in2vws" stampings?

Sorry............that's not it. The two marks are identical to each other but they are not incomplete 2's. (no hook to the top and lower on the left side) They really look like upside down Js with a slight taper on the long sides.

Has anyone ever asked an ex-factory employee about things like this??
Is these such thing as ex employee stories/info--there seems to be more known about the cars themselves.

date: oct 59 (friday)
color: black L41
#: 77

so we can say the 77 is the "highest" #?
but I don't believe that there were 77 jigs in the VW factory.

I was wondering, is the "11" Stamp on the Drivers side and the "B" on the passenger? Here mine are both on the passenger, but the "B" is to the left of the "55"

"11" on the passenger side; "B" on the driver side.

Do you have a pic of the 58? Could the color be "Diamond Gray"??

I will go with Diamond Gray L-243, if you find out otherwise, let me know. I will wait till I get a "Stamp#" before adding it to the list.

0NEBADBUG: Mid Nov 56, Polar silver, Euro Spec Sedan, 44 / B

If I had to take a stab at these marks? I'm guessing quality control reference.. shift, station, worker ...etc...

Kinda makes sense if you think about its random and incoincidental ill-nature of colors, models & reguardless across years being similar and so on...

But none-the-less... would nice to have first hand info on what they do actually mean... would be kinda cool to send a post card to their offspring and say 'hey look what your grandfather/mother built in 19XX'
