I do not think it is 356 since it is missing the mounting tab. Also the very early oil coolers should match the VW ones.

Now there is an aftermarket aluminum oil cooler to fit up if anyone is so inclined. From Stoddard maybe?

behr has been around a long time,
they make oil coolers and radiators still even today
