I have a few bubbly areas on the lower portion by the kitchen that is common for campers. I am wondering if I painted the texture black stuff that a lot of people here do would that help hide the rust warps? It is just a bit of an eye sore, so I'm hoping that might help out a bit. Thoughts?

It is not advised to use truck bed liner directly over rust.

Of course not.

But do scrape rust and neutralize via metal prep / blasting then seal

You can not just cover the rust up, it will pop up again.

If you want the rust to stay away longer, yes. Very Happy

Rust encapsulation prior to applying bedliner is recommended.

Yes, to properly do so all flat surfaces must be accessible and working room is needed to prep the surfaces.

I reseal the seams on the exterior where the liners will be applied.

A few unlucky van owners have found out what a mess bed liner can create if the prep is not detailed.

Matching up in areas where bed liner has lost its adhesion not only will be noticeable, but even more work than the first time around.
