Tram has helped me out of so many sticky situations with parts and advice. He has repeatedly sent me stuff on my good credit with him, asking for payment if the stuff fixes the problem or the part back if it doesnt. Tram is the sh!t.... for a codgy old fart. _________________ Jim in Sacto -

Tram is a very good friend. When my 1970 Type 3 Sharky 1 figured out in an accident, he offered to give me the entire inner fenderwell his fasty and other parts I needed. Taken from this thread:
http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2...p;start=60
This is it:

I have an entire rear inner fenderwell I can cut out to your specs and both fenders (from a 1973) that I'd be willing to send just for freight cost if that helps. I'm in Oregon, USA. I think freight will be expensive, though.
To put it mildly, that really sucks! But the main thing is that you are okay; a car can always be replaced. |
Tram has a big heart. Two thumbs up buddy Tram. I hope you won't suffer from heart enlargement, Ha ha ha. Just for laughs! _________________ '67 KG Cabrio (Mickey) ;

Wow. George is the man!
For a reasonable (not saying cheap) price, George rebuilt the motor in my 1971 Bug Convertible.
I had seen a thread where George was voted 1st or 2nd in best Type 3 mechanics on the Samba. In another thread I learned that he lived near me. After PMing him a question or two, I realized we live a mere 34 blocks apart.
His work would be worth much more of a drive...but luckily he is close. He gained my confidence with the "projects" around his shop: a T34 and a Mercedes 220s restored to near perfection. He found many things wrong with my Bug along the way and fixed those "Bugs" as well.
This is by far the best, smoothest, and powerful 1600cc Bug I have driven. And pretty to boot! He has also taught me many tricks of the trade while he was at it.
I look forward to his installing a new top on my vert soon. I will give more feedback at that time.
On a side note, I will take credit for his removing his snide comment about Type 1's in his sig line. _________________ OH SNAP! |

Ok Tramster It is gonna kill your rep but I agree you are the man.
I posted that I needed a pulley fan for my fastback so if I ever get off my ass to have the motor parts balanced I would have what I need. The Tramster hooked me up and again proved he is an asset to this site and his friends like me
Thanks again my friend

Wow again. Bought a buggy and the motor wasn't all that good. Told George over e-mail what the symptoms were and he gave me three things to check.
They were all good and said, "It's internal" (which seemed obvious) and told me what went wrong. Now that my motor is out what he said was exactly right.

I've had lots of deals with Geo over the past couple years and have never gotten a chance to properly thank him here in the feedback, so I'm doing it now. (better late than never...)
Don't hesitate to buy anything from him! He's a standup guy, ships promptly, and goes above and beyond the usual rigamarole to make sure you get the right part and that it'll work for you.

I've finally bought a car from George. Upstanding guy.
There were a couple of issues with the car, and since they were within a couple of weeks of buying the car, George bought the parts and offered to install them....something I have never heard of before.
George knows his stuff and can be trusted completely. Thanks TraMarT!! You may be an ass, but I'd buy from you again! _________________ OH SNAP! |

You didn't buy it from me. You bought it from the Monster- In Law. And the stuff didn't fail in a few weeks- they failed in a few hours. Your luck buying cars stinks- Glad I could help a brother Sambanista out.
Of course, the Compound is within range of your potato cannon, but that had absolutely nothin' to do with it, I tell you! _________________ Немає виправдання для війни! Я з Україною.

I'm just glad there wasn't body damage to fix from side-swiping someone on Main St.
I think my car-buying luck has changed. I've never owned a car of this quality and kewlness. _________________ OH SNAP! |

Long overdue praise. When Tram/George says he wants to buy something and requests a total with shipping, he doesn't screw around. No whining or "checking with the wife". He will send funds via Paypal the minute he receives a total price.
I wish all buyers could be like he is. _________________ West Virginia State Board of Education v. Barnette, 319 U.S. 624 (1943) |
