I'm a teacher, but I also work/teach for a children's science museum
called the Explorium in Boca Raton, FL. And this is one of the
exhibits that I have made. Since it's VW related, I thought you guys
would like to check it out...

rockers

Everything movers. Most any kid can turn the handle, since I
left out the piston rings. You can see I cut holes in the cylinders
and case, and painted the internals so you can see them move.
I even used a wrist pin for the handle! The most expensive part was the Plexi-glass box...$750.

The director wanted a v-twin, but I talked her into a vw engine, and
I'm glad I did.

Transaxle? Maybe.

There's also a video of me explaining how
an internal combustion engine works.

What a great thing to do, and what a great gift to the community.
Who knows how many young minds will be inspired by your work, and step into the field of engineering. You never know, you may just be responsible for tickling the mind of the next O. diesel, or H. Ford, or even F. Porsche...

With all the holes, would it leave a messy oil spill?

Nice work, well done.
