I must also reply to Ovally above, with his post on the Circuit Des Ardennes. That had me doing some more research on that event. I was so intrigued and amazed by such an idea. It has me wondering if similar historic driving routes exist in North America, as those sorts of things go beyond a drive within the area of some of our best and biggest car shows. What a great way to show and enjoy our vintage cars. I'm in Canada, but I think about Route 66 in the US. Are there particular segments where anyone can go back in time in terms of car travel on a section? Is there a thread specific to this? |
We have several historic driving routes in Belgium and Europe, organized by historic car clubs and usually spread over a few days with overnight stays.
Here you can see us at the start of the Circuit des Ardennes.

Here's my 1956 Polar Silver oval. One repaint in the 1980s, a local car from new. 3 owners from new with only 33,000 original miles. Other than regular repairs and the repaint, the car is all original. Even the tires are over 50 years old. at some point I'd like to repaint it to the original color as the dash, door insides, and under the hood and decklid are still factory paint. I waited 23 years for the opportunity to add this one to my collection and I'm so stoked!

Bought last week and delivered this week. The build was done 3 years ago and this is the first time it was driven off pavement as it was designed to do. Coming from the bus side of the house but still have my 59 single cab.
