My wife and I are locked in a debate on which wheels to get. Black Empi 8s or Rivieras. I don't mind the 8 spokes even though they're common but Rivs are just way too cheesy for me. My wife feels dead opposite. Sadly, I really dig old Rivs that don't have the raised portion on the spokes, but I'm not buying a brand new rollers just to have to put a bunch of work into 'em. I just want to see what others think of these wheels.

How about some of these:

The offset on Riviera's is awful, in my opinion. Polished 8 spoke's would be my choice over Rivi's any da.

I'm partial to the silver 8 spokes with the polished lip. They just look clean and they're not too flashy like chrome mangels

If I had the bucks I'd definitely role those 2.0 Porsche rims (Sprint Stars and old Ansen-style slots being my other two favorites). Well I got two votes for 8s Wink

I am rolling the og porsche 2.0 liters, they are great and have a good offset, but for the budget minded, you can't go wrong w/ the 8 spokes. I might be selling my alloys though, keep an eye out!

Just curious how come everyone hates the Rivi's? Seems pretty universal, everybody hates them. I kinda like the fully polished ones. Offset bad or something? they seem to sit a little too far out.

Like I said, I don't mind early fat lipped Rivs. If I had to run the current ones they'd have to be fully polished. The current ones with the raised spoke section and black accent paint just seem kinda hokey to me. They seem to remind me of the cheesy cars Hot VWs used to feature back in the 80's. Eight spokes are beat to death but at least seem to have a twinge of nostagia about them. Its all just my opinion and I'd never bash anyone who liked 'em. They're just not for me.

My Ghia came with some Rivs, I think they look decent on the Ghia. I may change some day, the offset could be better on them thats for sure.

Those 2 Liters in the picture above set me back $550. They are the real deal, and fully polished. If you do get a pair make sure to get the correct lug bolts.

I got the correct lug bolts from the same guy for $60. But they are all cruddy. What would be the best way to clean them? Soak them in CLR?

I got a set of lugs for my 2.0 Fuchs for $75 plus shipping, not a bad deal! That, and the service was great...Alex will set you right. Good luck!
