Looking at Ben's site, is there really a bleeder screw in ther rear heater? I'm pretty sure there is a bypass, but I don't recall anything like that in the Bentley...

Yes there is a bleeder in the rear heater, I had no problem bleeding my 1.9 85. I just opened the front rad bleeder screw and also did the rear heater once or twice. never jacked the van. Just keep filling the tanks and checking the front. leave the grill off and take a ride. fill more if needed. bleed front more. easy and after reading alot of posts i thought it would be harder then it was

My 87 had a bleed screw in the top of the rear heater valve. My 90 does not. Maybe VW got tired of the leaky thing.

All of my other gauges work just not the coolant temp gauge the light flashes all the tim the previous owner said it started the flashing about the time it went out of warranty so the gauge has not worked for a long time. I installed a new cluster out of another because my tach didnt work now it works but not the temp gauge.
