i have a doka and i tow a 15' compact II trailer with it. i use the gowesty hitch that is attached to the tow hooks and there seems to be no movement whatsoever on the 3 trips i have had with it so far. i would be a little wary in that you have auto transmission. i also have a gowesty 2.5 so that probably helps a little. my trailer probably weighs around 1500 lbs. i would just try it around town and see if there are problems. good luck. |

I woudn't have any fear of towing with the automatic trans.
It's them tow loop mounted hitches that bother me.
If your thiking about doing any serious towing the best set up is a frame mounted, rock solid hitch.
I don't know what the trailer your planning on pulling weighs--
But remember this--
At best any Vanagon is a light 1/2 ton truck, and it doesn't have much towing capacity. _________________ T.K. |
