I'm pretty sure it's the same part as loads of other earlier L-jetronic cars (bay buses) and K-jet (CIS). Early Rabbits, Sciroccos, even Volvos used this valve. They all look the same, all are 12V, only difference I could imagine might (might) be the time-to-closed. |

The have them at www.carpart.com for about 55.00. unless you have to have the expensive stuff then that'll be like 150.00. |

Try cleaning the mechanical part of the valve? A bunch of WD-40 has worked for me when mine got gunked in the closed mode. It was a short term fix that worked for a few months before I could swing a new one. _________________ '68 Autostick Bug Mom bought new

as timely as yesterday's bookmarks:
http://www.type2.com/library/fuel/fuelibo.htm
i used to keep a hardcopy of this under the seat of my '81 in case i was ever in the sticks and needed some cross-ref data at a junk yard. Now that my '85 is displaying signs of a sticky aux reg, i found the link again. Good stuff here--
FI Bays and Porsche 914's and any pre-86 Vanagon are going to have this same aux reg, and as $.10 sez, prolly many more early H20 VW's. I'm going to try the wash/rinse/repeat cycle w/ mine before hitting the junkyard, but you can be sure i'm going to raid every junker i can find for a spare. |
