Hi everyone,
So as the title states what is your favorite color on a Karmann Ghia? I guess my favorite color would be the Saturn yellow, however my 72 coupe was orig painted Adriatic Blue so I guess that is the colr I will stick with when it gets painted. How about you?

I like the greens. My favorite : Amazon green 58-59 L417 42613
Right now mine is close to that color. When she gets a re-spray we will go with the proper L417. _________________ '72 Bus Safare Camper

My favorite is not even a stock color... i love how the ghias look in maroon. So much in fact, that's what color mine will be painted in a few weeks. _________________ 1968 Ghia coupe

All colors mentioned are good ones for the Ghia.
I don't know if I could narrow it down to a specific single color, but I love
Cognac
Trout Blue
Dolphin Blue
Sea Blue
and, of course I have to at least mention Castillian Yellow

most of my ghias have been red. but my favorite color is black. it is the hardest to do and get it right though. every blemish shows. there is one from mobile, i think, that is usually in the fl. bug jam. the entire engine compartment is chromed (really polished alum.) but the body and paint is just the best. |

Cognac does rock.. my 58 Coupe was originally Cognac... but when I tried to source the paint.. no one made it.. and I didnt have a sample to match. Still cant find a formula for Diamont, Glasurit or Spies for that color... so I went with my second favorite.. 1960 color scheme L346 Mango Green and a L347 Seagull Gray Roof... Its not original to 1958.. but its looks very cool. _________________ DB

52HoffmanSplit I was able to find the mixing formula for Cognac on the Ghia online resource site at www.type-14.com. Sorry you had to compromise when painting your car. |
