I always find myself "searching" bicycle threads on here and thought it would be cool to have a "fest" thread that maybe Skim could throw in the Sticky's for us. I love oldschool bmx, beach cruisers and antique bicycles...post em' up! Here's some of mine:

i just got back from santa cruz and everone down there rides beachcruiser style bikes. so i just got back and asked my dad if his old bikes are still at my grandmas house. he said i could have all of them. i still need to go over and take a look. is there a site out there like thesamba for old bikes? im building one for me, one for my sis and one for my girlfriend.

Originally, this bike was my dad's. He left it with me in 1996 when he moved to Alabama. I just kept moving it around the shed/shop/garage until he passed away. After he passed, it suddenly had some meaning for me and I restored it. It's a 1979 Raleigh Roadster.

I ride regularly. I have a have a commuter bike (a converted 1989 MTB) and a Specialize road bike, similar to Glenn's son. I also have a vintage Trek 400 and a beat up Schwinn World 10 spd....that got tossed into the deal when I bought the 1979 convertible.

My second favorite is my RedLine MonoCog (rigid) 26" Single Speed. It's about as close to an old school type BMX I can comfortably ride.
(This bike is currently serving in Iraq, under a good friend of mine who is a US Navy Corpsman assigned to a US Marine Detachment.)

My favorite "Fun" bike is my VanDessel BuzzBomb 29"er Disc SingleSpeed. It has been around the world a few times and seem a few combat zones. it has NEVER let me down of left me walking. This was taken at an undisclosed location in Kuwait, last year (Yes, that's me riding it):

I ride Custom built Titanium Habanero CycloCross Frame to and from work, 26 miles R/T, 3 times a week. Though it's set up for the pavement, I'm running a mountain triple for better hill ability and (as usual) RaceFace cranks, and of course my SpeedPlay Frogs. I'm not a "purist" by any means.

Note the built-in titanium bottle opener (Never be without a bottle opener!!!)

My "IceBike" is another custom Titanium frame from Habanero Cycles, shod with Nokian "Extreme's" (297 carbide studs in each tire) on SnowCat rims.
There is no place this bike can't go, once it gets below 0c .

i've still never found a site to date my western flyer from the frame number. any ideas anyone?

i'm pretty sure it's 50's but in the meantime i fitted a 1963 moped license plate to the rear light unit that i just bought last weekend.

1948 Schwinn Flying Star. I just picked it up for $2.50 at an auction. Now I have to decide to keep it and fix it, or just sell it. I put it on the local craigslisy site and have had a lot of people e-mail me, but no one has bought it yet.

I've got a few bicycles.

This is my son's Schwinn Sting Ray Spoiler.
It was made in a limited run (2000 total, I believe) in 2004.

We are thinking about putting a gasoline engine on it similar to those used on the old Whizzer bicycle conversions in the '40s/'50s.
In Illinois, it would be street legal and could be licensed as a moped.

I have a 2000 Schwinn Cruiser DeLuxe Seven like this one.

For that year only, these bikes came with some left over pieces from the Black Phantom replica run.
The frame is a hand made exact duplicate of the 1958 (or was it '59)Schwinn Black Phantom.
I also replaced the horn tank and saddle with the replica pieces, and put a set of white walls and the rear rack mounted tail/brake light on it.
My favorite part, though, is the 7 speed Nexus hub which makes this cruiser enjoyable and practical to ride long distances.

I ride this one with my daughter - it is her favorite.
It's a 2005 Schwinn Tango Tandem 7 Speed.

My daughter has one of these Schwinn Sting Ray 3 Speeds, only hers is all candy orange.

Picked it up cheap on clearance at Toys R Us.

My son and I bought this Schwinn Sting Ray together on clearance at Target with the intention of motorizing it with a gasline engine.

I also have a 1985 Schwinn Cruiser 5 Speed very similar to this one that I bought new.

For that year only, Schwinn transferred the manufacturing to Huffy (I believe), and then the following year they began to make them in Taiwan.
Mine is the same candy apple red, only I picked up the front and rear chrome racks and fenders necessary to make it look like a Schwinn Jaguar.
I have the horn tank that originally came on my Cruiser DeLuxe Seven, so all I need is a Jaguar chainguard.

I also have a 1930's Elgin men's bike that is very rough, which I would ultimately like to motorize as well.
