Repros will not be SG keyed and I do not believe that the tumblers are interchangeable either. Keep your eyes open or post a WTB in the classifieds. The original handles can be found!

T handles are keyed according to year. SG keys were used from 1954-59. SE, SU & SC coded locks were used from 1960-64. Examine the shank of the T handle. The flat area is where VW would have stamped the key code.

Thanks for the replies guys.I see a part number, but no key code number. The flat area reads 113827571 and what appears to be a "B".
