Anybody have any work done by these guys? I hear they have been around forever. I'm considering having them do my vert top on my '72 KG. It's a tough one with the fold-down glass rear window.
Feedback please

I've known Tom Lopez of Nacho's Upholstery for a number of years. He used to show his white '66 Ghia at the Classic and the KGPR Ghia Treffens until he started running in the DRKC series.
I've seen a number of VWs that they've done, I would recommend you support a VW enthusiast getting your upholstery done there. _________________ Jim Kikuchi

I've never used them nor do I know anyone who has but I have been to the shop and saw their work on non-VW's. Its on Victory west of the 170 freeway and has a large open bay facing the street. The place has always been filled with early restored American classics. I was contemplating taking one of my early non-VW cars there for work in approx 2 months after paint so I'm glad to see this thread pop up. You should roll over there and see their work in person. |

Thanks for the replies guys. Banzai, I saw your car at the Treffen and Classic, and I still haven't met you! Hopefully some time soon.
Nacho came in lowest of all the quotes I got to put my top on. They quoted me $550 with me supplying all the materials. He also came recommended a few years back by a nice guy with a vert Ghia from Airspeed club over here in Simi Valley. Just seems odd that the best shop would also have the lowest quote... _________________ 1977 Westfalia Weekender Berlin "The Kitebus" aka " Colonel Mustard"

Good or bad?
I'll probably swing by there today to see John...

From what I did see, it looked good. Never saw a vert top while there but I was checking out seats and door panels on non-vw early classics. Like i mentioned, I'm taking an early non-vw there in a couple months for some work. You'll get a good idea of their work when you see the place and them installing stuff while youre there. Good luck !! |
