Oil hole under generator

Anyone know for sure when the hole under the gen pedestal went from the small round hole to the big D shaped hole? I always thought it was with the 1300 case but I have engine # 9316528 with the D hole and it is 1200. I think it was built in Aug 64.

The big D-shaped hole was introduced in August 1964 at Engine No. 8 803 980. (August started with Engine No. 8 796 623, so it would have been a mid-August 1964 change). They made the change to the 1965 model year 1200 and all replacement cases thereafter.
