I don't like the location or the cramped-ness of the fitting on the propane tank. In wet, muddy or icy conditions it is less than ideal to be down there.

This is what I did. It allows propane to flow in both directions; tank can supply external things, or a portable tank can supply the stove, fridge and furnace. There is a small regulator on the hose going from the portable tank to the port. Going from the van's tank to something hooked up outside, the flow goes through the westy's regulator. Not sure what would happen if connecting the port to an outside appliance that has it's own regulator since there would now be 2 regulators.

Quick disconnect fitting attached to hose made at a propane place, tee'd into one of the lines in the van.

Oh crap is that what that was Embarassed Or do you mean how did I seal it off? I just put a cap on the end of the hose, but I could also have capped it at the faucet. The way I did it, the next owner can get a new door and put it back if they want.

Hey folks,

I installed the extend-a-stay fitting about a month ago. I had the tank filled. The problem I am having is that my coleman stove lights up and runs great for a minute then the pressure drops. The T fitting is before the regulator.

Someone mentioned drilling out the orifice in the hose. Mention drilling and orifice I get uncomfortable! Smile

Any other hints?

Brian

Well that didn't happen before my July trip! LOL

See it's still on sale, is it the 66-8812 one that you guys used that worked? If I get on this now, maybe it'll be done by next summer. Wink

You could just T in before the regulator. Any external tank would be regulated when using internal appliances. Any camping appliances like bbq's or lanterns that would be run off of the westy tank are already internally regulated as they are designed to run off of unregulated external tanks.
