I have a perfectly good 1999 Dodge Ram 4x4 pick up (with A/C, 92K miles, perfect shape, needs NO work) that I'm actually considering giving up for a 1960 singlecab that needs restored. Here's a link to it:

Am I crazy for considering this? The wife said it's either one or the other.

If the Dodge is a 2nd or 3rd vehicle that is just sitting around, then go for it.

If the Dodge is transportation you depend on, and the VW will be expected to take that position, then you are way

Float a loan on the Dodge and get the single cab.

Tell the wife to shut-up.

It's only a Dodge.... I'd swap in a heartbeat. Of course, if its your only transportation, then go to plan "B".

We currently have 4 vehicles. The Dodge would be considered "back up transportation" (due to it's horrible gas mileage) I use it only for picking up shit from Lowes, hauling away crap, etc . . .

My first line of transportation is the '69 Beetle.

Going to Six Flaggs once, was driving, well, like I always do, and the wife kept with the "I wish you wouldn't do that..." on and on. Got to the point that I leaned over close to her and whispered "you know, I am not your genie". Razz

She didn't think that was funny but did shut up the rest of the way! Laughing

Yeah, this is a problem I currently have. I have struggled with this for 17 years. Even before kids. I dont remember who said this but, here is a somewhat famous qoute. "If mama ain't happy, then no one is happy." Find a compromise. You can get very creative even, if you have to.

I'm Prayin' fer ya.

Amen (A-Man Laughing )

BTW, Dave your Speedster SC is insirational Bro. I'm a Big Fan.

Thanks for the compliment. The Speedster is going through a transplant in the next couple of weeks. 1910 cc T4, DTM, dual 40's, Mallory dizzy.....should be fun!

And I hear ya on the compromising, it makes life alot easier! I'm sure my wife says the same things about me.....she's a good woman though and loves the truck just as much as I do.
