My former boss in Fishersville, VA constructed the mini semi.
Nethken and Associates was a VW repair / kitcar fabrication shop.

Ken had a wild imagination with a lot of talent. The late 70's and early 80's
was crazy for the custom car scene.

Ya. I don't considered it a Frankenbus but more a vintage pic. The text says it still had the opposed 4 engine so the radiator snout is cosmetic, I believe.

The Aircooled engine and transaxle are in front of the rear most axle driving
the forward rear axle. The rear most axle is a dummy and has two large springs
the axle goes through which allows it to move side to side because the binding
was too much for the frame to handle.

Sheesh, the rig pulls into a truck stop, guy gets out and climbs under the rear axle, checks the oil.

You boss looks like a model; male model not toy model.

Would you suggest a north american GFI, or a German spec CEE outlet?

Better check the birth certificate for an export code. Only way to be sure.

AZ essentially has no laws as long as you are a god-fearing christian legal american citizen. Wink

Just upgrade the cover. http://www.grainger.com/product/2V705?gclid=COqHn7...12164941:s
Sheesh, I'm wondering if that is even power out. If it's power in then imagine what a nightmare the campsite power pigtail is like.

1959 bus made into a trailer.
They just unbolted all the running gear and put a straight axle with leaf springs right in the center, even cut little wheel wells into the cargo floor. Hitch made with some angle iron and tube hitch mounted to where the beam would have mounted..even made support bars to the nose Confused
Guy said his great uncle made it to use for his fishing camp.
Inside was stripped as well, just a flat plywood deck for sleeping on

I think this is the first bus I've seen with welded up wheel wells. Almost has a Foxcraft look. Weird.

Luckily they were not welded..just some aluminum jb welded (or something like that) to the body.
I figured would be ugly when i popped them off. But I found nice untouched wheel wells.
She is cleaning up nicely Smile

reminds me of these floating cars. There are so many like that Citroen, but haven't seen a VW or even a bus yet. Someone should create one.
