I have a relay in my parts collection that I would like to identify.

On one side it says VW 111 951 307
On the other side it says SWF 500355 12V
On the bottom are terminals 85 and 86, with push-on connectors.
On the top there is a spring steel clip.

I don't know what this came off of but I would like to know what it is for. Is it a flasher of some sort?

Thanks.

Its a Key Buzzer used in bugs (and probably everything else).

Here's the wiring diagram for a 70 bug (you are looking for component H5):

and here's the key:

it is about 1" square/cube and metal?

I know the question has already been answered but, for future reference, I've always had pretty good luck by punching unknown part numbers into Google.

A Google on this number turned up this:

See Karl's post about halfway down the page.

When I got my 70 beetle I thought that damn buzzer was really annoying. So I took it out.

That very evening I locked the keys in the car!
