anybody ever try Krylon Fusion Plastic paint on a steering wheel? would it work better than regular spray paint? _________________ www.cultwagen.com |

Yes, tried both - first regular spray paint and that turned out really horrible. I then put on the Fusion plastic paint and it coated the wheel much better and had a nicer finish. Unfortunately it always seemed "sticky" even after months after drying. I ended up putting a leather wheel wrap. I can't wait to see if others have some ideas. _________________ 76 Fuel Injected Standard Bug

As cool as it is to find old VWs that have been sitting since the '70s, most of these are cut up (buses especially) and smell like weed and feet. Sad |

duplicolor has a creamy white that works pretty good on wheels.
real paint is better but not always available. _________________ Frank

a lot of good paint shops not only can match any color, but a lot can also make it up as spray paint but the duplicator holds up alright i suppose.
you can use it on the seat bottoms too as well _________________ Frank

I would paint that thing! From what I have heard, anytime you use spray paint it feels a little gummy. Single stage paint here would be fine. Even a really cheap gun would suffice. In fact if you scuffed it I bet a painter would hit for ya for next to nothin (you provide the paint). |

Good for you, much cheaper alternative. Has it sat out in the sun yet? Did you use spray paint clear? |
