I was just wondering if anyone else didn't really like the way they look...I mean, I would love to have one, and I respect them for how old they are, but to me they just look weird without the vent overhang the later model splits have. I think it is the curve of the front nose, but anyway, I just don't like it. I think everything else about them is cool, though...
Now I'm not saying I would turn one down if I had a chance to buy it...I just think they look funny... _________________ 1967 13 Window Deluxe

To each their own, just respect that is where it all started. _________________ It's not about the window, it's about the people.

Oh, I definitely respect them, and I think they are awesome, its just that I don't like the way the front roof line and the nose comes together. I'm probably just about the only person on this forum willing to admit it... _________________ 1967 13 Window Deluxe

For me, the cool part would be the ability to climb into the engine compartment to work on stuff. _________________ 1974 Thing -- under the knife

The missing overhang in the front freaks me out too.
The rear of a barny is cool. [/youtube] |

I would much rather have one than a later split.
All the overhang vent in mine is good for is dripping water on me when it rains... _________________ "Saying what we think gives us a wider conversational range than saying what we know."

Ditto! Though I definitely enjoyed the Treffen show yesterday with all the great examples of Barny's in attendance, I would not want to really own one. I mean, they are indeed unique in their own way but IMHO the uniqueness as far as parts for them and such is something I personally not want to deal with.
More power to those that do and keep them running and showing for the rest of us to admire! _________________ Some people are so busy being clever they don't have time enough to be wise. |

Well, maybe it's just that I need to see one up close and personal to appreciate the way it looks. I should have changed the title and mentioned that the only thing that I don't like about them is the front roof line...But anyway, maybe if I just saw one up close and personal then I might change my mind...But right now, I still don't care for the front roof line... _________________ 1967 13 Window Deluxe
