So, I have the factory type speedo with electric fuel gauge and the gas gauge doesn't work. Was wondering if I put in an autometer type speedometer if there is a special one I would need or would any type work? And I was wanting to relocate the gas gauge to the area to the right of the speedo by making a custom plate to fit into the indented area. I've included a pic so hopefully it will help make the visual better.

your not alone im dying to put a cyberdyne in mine when i get the money.
problem is the stock speedo is 4 1/2 inch. and it has all your indicator lights built in. simplest and most asthetic way to do it that i can think of would be to cut a piece of sheet metal about the same size as the original speedo, bend it and drill holes to copy its mount pattern then mount it and drill a hole towards the bottom of the space (from inside cab sice hole in dash is bigger than speedo) then using a sharpie or something draw the speedo circle (the dash's) take the plate back out and drill the holes for your indicator lights to go above the speedo and then paint the plate, install everything and your done with the speedo. gas guage is a different story. |
