Cool. Youre probably right, I'm just looking for an excuse to drive our vans around and drink beer (my wife claims that's my life goal - she knows me well). We'll have to try before the rain starts in earnest. Maybe one last LL meetup before November and the holidays start up. Time to fire up the Westraveganza thread.

Every van is different.

I noticed this when I yanked the motor/tranny out of my wrecked '91 GL and stuck them into a '90 GL. The GF and I both came to the conclusion that the '90 is quieter even though they were the exact same model and carpeting(lloyd's plush mats removed from donor and put into driver). I went around them and checked for missing seals or bad body seals in the donor and they were fine. All of the door seals were new and transferred to the driver as well. Confused

Any tips to remove the carpet glue especially around the wheel wells? Or is this not important to apply the vibration damping adhesive backed material?
Thanks.

Putty knive, heat gun, wire wheel. Not sure about your car, but wheel wells on a bug transmit a lot of sound if not dampened.

I layed the Damplifier Pro product right over the old glue, no problems. You'll have to get some kind of adhesive to glue the carpet back down though (I used a 3M spray adhesive).
