What color should it be on a deluxe?
Mines been painted an old gawdy PO color green.
Should it be bare metal?

uh yeah, i got that part. i can read the title.
i guess i should have been more specific: WHICH CARGO DOOR, the front one or the rear one?
each door has a different type mechanism and they are often "finished" in different coatings/paint. some are chromed, some are "silver" cad plated, some are painted black, etc. i would think your front door mechanism would be the silver cad plated one, which over the years probably now looks like "bare" metal.
