This is more of a tribute to the cool overall look of a barndoor. Not a copy.

Cool project, but why -if he's doing so much metalwork-
didn't he made the front window proper barndoor ones
(barndoor height is approx 20mm lower)

At some point, I have to stop...If I shorten the windshields, then I have to find BD safaris at a reasonable cost...There are tons of things about this bus that are not correct, but since I can't afford a BD, I'll suffer with this one.. Very Happy

Its ben a very interesting project so far, great work.

I think this sort of bus might start a resurgance in the "custom bus" would be fun to see all sorts of freak buses made that vw never built.

Very Happy

I just read through this thread again. Cool concept.

Did you think about making it a Double Door?

Thanks..I did think abou it..It was actually in my original plans, but finding decent high hinge doors and a door section to graft in would be a chore, and I'm trying to drive this truck to the Classic, so time is an issue..In hind(sp) sight, I'm glad it didn't happen, because I later heard that DD busses had belly pans for strength, and I would have not known to put them in until it was too late..
