not only do they produce moisture, they are kind of a tight squeeze in my opinion. not a lot of room for a really frickin' hot propane heater. i prefer the lots of blankets route.

Pardon my woeful ignorance on the topic, but does the Vanagon Westy full camper have a built-in furnace? I am elbows deep in repair/refurbish of my Eurovan furnace, and it just occurred to me that I don't think I've seen a thread on that topic here.

some vanagon westys have a built in petrol furnace that sucks the battery dry but heats it right up, so not like the euro vans.

How to hook the extension line to your westy tank, its my understanding that they don't work with the regulator, is there any way around this , I don't want to buy another tank or throw out the little tanks.

A Coleman Sport Cat heater puts out a LOT of heat, and doesn't take much room, AND will operate above 5,000 feet elevation, which the Mr. Heater Buddy manual tells you... Belatedly... It won't.

Two searches. I found one testimonial that it works in a Colorado garage at 6300 ft but not up in the high country and the second was Mr Heater's site that said not for use above 7k ft.

works at any alt, but has no low O2 sensor, and is spendier, but still a lot cheaper than the propex.

the propex is the cadillac of heaters without a doubt, but i'm going on a trip in my 7 passenger w/ zbed. after that i'm moving to hawaii soon, so i have no interest in investing in a $900 heater. unless you plan on doing tons of camping, it's just not worth it.

i'll probably do the buddy heater, but i'm going to decide once my camping destinations are picked out. the wave 3 is like $200, i could probably sell it when i'm done for $100. so it might be worth it.

heated blankets are fine and all for me, but the mrs. won't tolerate the cold, and my 3yo hates sleeping under any covers.

ive got both, the coleman sport cat and the mr heater buddy
the mr heater will definately put out the heat, it will run you out of the vehicle if you have it on high. i didnt notice a moisture problem
the sport cat is great for a personal quick warm up, but in colder weather i dont think it would keep the entire vehicle warm

I was just in the Grand Tetons and mine worked just fine. No moisture it, helped dry out the inside. Elevation was 6700 feet.
