The metal clips that hold the brake pipes in place underneath. Some very kind Gent sent me some years ago for the 52 and I had enough left to do the Kempes but that is the last one and they are toast on the Kohlruss. Not hard to make but would rather buy some if someone is making them to save me some time fiddling about |
Are those different than the later ones? I have some used og clips.
The bolts not so many, as they are also used for pedal pan 55-67, so the bolts off parted buses tend to go there, but the clips end up in a drawer. _________________ The Obsolete Air-Cooled Documentation Project http://oacdp.org/ |

Does anyone reproduce the barndoor decklid prop bracket?
(Is it a barndoor only item, 1950-55?)
If anyone has a spare original, please get in touch _________________ -StockRocks- |

I made one several months back for a customer. Didn't bother to make more as it didn't seem like worth it for the small if any market of need.
They are basically the same as later besides the dimples the later ones have.

Thanks guys
Greg/Adam - thank you - looks like this is a slightly later dimpled version
Trev - 211 813 452 looks to be the bracket below
Mark - nice intricate work, as always. The mouth area is a different shape, isnt it
Part number is 211 813 247 - 'Bearing - (for) Collapsible Bracket'
Appears in the 58 parts manual, so I assume it carried on for a while after bd production, and before the dimpled version

I may have one from a Wolfsburg built 56 bus that got cut up by Skim. If it is still on the sections from it. I'll look this weekend when I go to my storage. if I have it just pay the shipping and it's yours. |

Well, damn! You're right. I was sure I had it right while checking my 54 when I made that to be sure. I guess having the ass end of my bus crammed into a dark corner of the shop didn't help any. It's out in the open now and I got a better look and sure enough they are different. Just a little trimming though. Thanks for pointing that out. _________________ www.thebustransfer.com

Yes, have seen a late 55 bracket now too.
Looks like
Barndoor: Straight mouth, no dimples
Post-Barndoor: Cranked mouth, two strengthening dimples
And as you say it looks like the post-barndoor bracket can be made barndoor correct by a trim of the upper mouth area, and flattening out the two dimples (to make it nice & weak again). _________________ -StockRocks- |

I can offer a very limited number of NOS old production original HUF (!) T handles incl. og keys, that had been in storage for about 60 years (PERFECT CONDITION) and that can be modified with little work to be a perfect match to the Barndoor engine lid T handles, that nowadays are almost impossible to find. NOS BD motorlid handles on this site are currently being offered for not less than USD$ 750 - $ 850.
My handle is at EUR 150+shipping.
Once modified at the rear screw on part there is NO difference noticeable to an original BD T handle.
Have a look at my ad for this

Here a foto of the handle I can offer:

My NOS HUF handle modified for the use in barndoor motor lid lock, the modification is absolutely invisible once installed:

Finding slider door glass for one of my BD's was a pain. 2 "expert" shops made glass for me that was either the wrong size / shape or had the latch hole in the wrong spot.
So I pulled an OG piece from another BD and had it copied locally. Perfect. Since that went so well I had a bunch of pop out glass made also.
No one would sell me the stencils for etching the logos, so now I have taken that on as well.
My plotter runs 15" x 1 yard material, so I'm going to have a bunch of extras to sell if people need them.
If the need is there I may start doing complete (flat) glass sets as well.
I currently have 4x slider glass with proper latch hole and BD logos and 6x pop out glass with no logo (same as later bus so I didn't want to paint myself into a corner) |

I still have a small rest of the abovementioned NOS HUF handle.
For those who prefer "plug and play" I can now offer that very handle already finally modified so it can immediately be installed to your Barndoor motor lid:
