I'm sure someone much more knowledgeable than me will be along shortly to give a more exact identification , but the steering wheel looks like an early Split-window Beetle one (think this design was also fitted to Standard-model Beetles until the early 60's as well?).
The other item (I think!) is a 1958-63 Beetle licence plate light unit with an adapter plate to allow it to be fitted to a pre-October 1952 Beetle engine lid.
Both are very nice items and am sure highly collectable, but have no idea of current market value sorry....................

Does the back of the steering wheel look like this? The tab to the left in the picture was used in later cars for the turn signals. This can date your steering wheel.

You are correct about the wheel it was used throughout the 50's on standards but it was also used on the Fridolins which were produced from about 64 to 73 so it is hard to tell how old it is.
You are correct about the license plate lamp adapter. _________________ Chris

thanks a lot guys,
to reply to some of the posts
Steven Wood ---- the wheel I have has no tab on the back , so I guess its
for the earlier beetles
Splitjunkie , I did think it might be a Fridolin wheel as a pal used to have one, but I guess without the tab on the back, its not a Fridolin one.
Ok guys which section should I list these items under,
I also have some NOS interior mirrors to list , plus a very unusual type 2
lock
I'll dig them out and list the numbers |

Date it? It was probably manufactured sometime after 1958. It was designed to be used on 1953-57 decklids to adapt a 1958-63 license plate light housing. |

Nope. It is for mounting it on a split decklid.

splitjunkie is definitely right as a 58-63 licence plate housing fits perfectly onto a zwitter/oval decklid without any need for an adaptor.
Its defo to fit a 58-63 light unit onto a split decklid.
