Just wondering if anyone knows of a tranny shop in the midwest, preferably close to Michigan? Looking to get my 12V manual transmission inspected and possibly rebuilt.

Thanks

Don't know of one personally. But go to the General/Chat forum, click on the Michigan Dubbers thread. Maybe one of them can help.

DRE in Carol Stream, IL. Try a search, otherwise I'll look for thier number. They do a lot of Formula Vee work but my buddy had the trans for his 65 done by them and was very happy with it.

Thanks for the advice.

Russ - I actually need a swing-axle transmission - they are different right?

A few years back before my car was in a thousand pieces it would pop out of gear once in awhile. I have read that 90% of the time it is the drive flanks on the synchro teeth...anyway, something that I cannot fix! So I thought it would be a good time to get it rebuilt. I would just rather not pay the shipping to California or core fee for a new one, if possible. Kinda cheap aren't I?

Chicagovw- I couldn't find DRE with a search engine but found it on Yahoo's yellow-pages. This "DRE" is in Elgin 630-213-1010? They had a website that looks to be based around their main shop/headquarters in Kentucky. Do you know how much he paid for his rebuild?
