Amazing! I must have missed the original thread...what's the story on this car? History? Background? |

really, nice. well i hope thats only 1/10th, thats good. never keep large amounts of vintage cars stored together. if i a fire happens, or something bad, then you only lose a few. having them stored in small groups at several locations is a very good idea. also having a killer fire sprinkler system is a must.
i had a friend who back on the 80s lost about 20-30 early 356's do to a fire at his shop, there were no sprinklers, and the fire department said the building was unsafe. they would not let him in there to get any of the cars out, they said it would collapse. they bulldozed the building with the cars inside. he was so upset over that incident that he walked away from the cars and the sport.
i wouldnt want to see that kind of agony ever again.
nice collection, if you dont mind me asking, can you send me photos of all the cars? i love knowing whats out there, and safe. makes me happy. early busses and 356's are my two fav german cars ever made.
plus i can add to my cool collection of photos. later dave |

Dave,
Sorry
These are not my cars, but from a friend in Germany,
so I don't post pictures here from his cars ! Maybe he will post a few,
but in my opinion its better to Visit The vintage show in HO and check the cars by yourself !!
Sorry, |

what a piece of history......looking at the front nose design is very similar to the kurtis race cars built in the fifties and sixties here in the usa.
It looks like it be fun to take on the track or windy roads here at home. _________________ Life is Good! Have a Nice Day!-don't worry about the jerks out there on the forum, in the end... they fall, and fall hard!

I am interested in the flat twin egnine, do you know which year the design dates from? Do you have any pics of the engine from other angles? Nice project - good to see you salvaged so much of the aluminium. |
