I have one of those sitting right next to may garage waiting for the Manx to be done.
I have seen some with seats from a 914 that look pretty at home in there.

I cannot comment on what seats you need, but wanted to say that I have always liked this kit. I really like yours with the old western wheels on it and the burgandy paint.

If I did not already have too many projects, (4), I would be looking for one.

That's cool is that like 2x4 wood around the battery tray? I guess that's the way to do it b/c I saw a Bradley GT with wood around the battery tray too.

So I guess I should make a post for the planes I have for the car.
Would like to have a track car feel to it
2056cc T4 (have it)
trans with long gears (i know a guy)
full cage (front to rear)
disc brakes all 4
new wiring
The good thing is I have a year to plan so if I change my mind no biggie.

Some people use Mazda Miata seats. Some even have built in speakers in the head rest.

It needs an adjustable front beam for sure. I would set the car on blocks to establish the ride height that looks good, then adjust the suspension from there.

How about Gulf Oil Company racing colors? Blue and orange???

BRM's don't have enough offset for the proper look, IMO.

Well, ditch the Gulf colors paint scheme and go more traditional exotic car color, ie red, black, silver, etc.

You do need to adjust the suspension for the right look. That's my biggest issue with older VW kit cars. The builders often time built the car, but never went to the trouble of getting the ride height just right or the wheel offset perfect. This makes the car just look like a body kit sitting on a VW frame instead of a car built from the ground up.

And the motors those idiots would run!!! 1600 single ports or maybe a 1679 with a weber progressive.... Whoa! What power! Rolling Eyes Give me a break! If you have that body, you need to back it up with some muscle.

As for the trans, Lester can build anything you can afford. If you're going to stay with normal aspiration, you should consider a 5 speed. If you are thinking of going turbo, a long geared 4 speed should be fine.

They used Opel GT tach which I have thought about using in buggies but it is too big for most dashes. Too bad they did not use the Opel speedo, it would have made a good match and can use standard VW speedo cable.

Might get some ideas from this.

Also looks like it will go for pretty good money.
