Cool stuff. I used to use HPUX back in the day.
I installed the resistors for the GoWesty LED upgrades. So the lesson I learned, if a description says “may require…” then I should just buy it and not waste two weeks waiting for parts |

Fall Color over to Michigan, that was too early for much color….
But the weather was absolutely perfect for early Fall regardless.
The Vanagon behaved itself as well. No issues. 4 of us, myself and my wife, oldest niece, and our Dog Rocket.

We justified the Van purachase by saying we’d use it to take the dogs to the vet. So it is living up to its potential.

Return trip to SW Michigan area, we started at New Buffalo, went to Three Oaks, St. Joseph and Benton Harbor as well this time. More color, not at peak yet, but at least color everywhere we went. Weather was still really nice as well, just windy and cooler right at Lake Michigan shoreline.
Had a minor scare with a Doe and her 2 Fawns. They popped out of the right side of the road while we were slowly traveling along the inner Lake Road, so our speed was really slow to begin with and easy enough to brake for them. But luckily, they were traveling away from us after breaking out along the road, and faster than us too....
They eventually regrouped back across the same side they came from, slowly walking among some houses. Better to see those alert White Tails going away from us than into our nose and Rocky Mountain Westy Front Bumper...
Many places have shut down for the Season, so the long wait till Spring begins again until they open back up. Vanagon was stellar again, no misbehaving...

Time to winterize the garden, so the bride sends me out to find bags of pine tags awaiting county pickup. One neighbor is generally good for a dozen or so bags and that'll give my gardener a good start. Got 18 bags this time, with almost no leaves mixed in. Sure glad I'm not the one who has to rake them; I grew up in a pine tag yard and had my fill of that.

Took me to my precinct to work the election. Arrived before the 0500 start time and got to see the lunar eclipse in mid-bite. It's that surprisingly bright blob above the street light.
Once we began prep for the voters I was out planting our signs on the approaching streets.
We picked them up this evening after our 15-hour day and now we're home unwinding. _________________ '87 Westy in Wolfram Grey Metallic |
