"At $26.5k you will be proud to drive a “one of a kind”. It would sell for $50k if I lived in New York or California"
Dreamer, nothing but a dreamer..... As Supertramp once said.

Well, it's a $6500 bus, but the Weber progressive adds an easy $20K...
Honestly, if it would sell for $50K in New York or California, wouldn't it be worth the gas to drive there for the extra $23,500?? _________________ Check out my video series at www.youtube.com/midnightoilgarage |

I checked out a 1968 Westy last Saturday. Rusted out rocker panels, big hunk of bondo had popped off the right rear corner, belly pans rotted out, interior a shambles, top flaking, wheels rusted on and on.
The ad on Craigslist stated he had seen similar buses on the internet sell for $35,000 and he was only asking $6800.00. He wasn't with me when I got to the bus and I talked to him over the phone as I checked it out. As I walked around the bus pointing out all the problems, he kept telling me how great of shape it was in. I thought my wife would kick the bucket laughing when I asked him, "are we talking about the same vehicle? 'Cause, I'm looking at a $1500.00 camper, not a $7000.00 camper."
Needless to say, I told him not to bother meeting me, I'd keep looking. |

But hey guys, it has the same engine used in the Porsche sportscar... I live in NJ which is basically an extension of New York, and I can tell you the most he'd get around here is about 12k, upper limit. 50K? Out of his gourd. _________________ Your car may do 0-60 in under 5 seconds, but can it sleep 4 and cook a meal?
1979 Deluxe Campmobile (quickly rusting away)
33K miles when bought, now at 61K

I am in California and I wouldn't give him $1500 with the wheels. |
