What is the front vehicle? Other than the rear spare tire, it looks very VW-ish. |
I thought of an Adler Trumpf Junior, but the bumper horns don't fit. |
MG, maybe? sort of looks like the photo at the top of this thread:

Info on this photo.............
Douglas C-74 Globemaster # 42-65414 of the United States Air Force Air Transport Command and it's familiar looking cargo.
Here's a 1947 Volkswagen being flown into Berlin's Gatow RAF Station during the Berlin Airlift in support of the USAF's "Operation Goliath" ca. Sept./Oct. 1948.
*It might be O.D. Green that certainly would make it a high ranking British Officer's vehicle?~ Or if it's Grey, then it a may have been a U.S. ARMY vehicle*
The Globemaster could only land at Gatow at that time, so all cargo that it carried went though the RAF station.

British Army Cromwell IV tank and a VW beetle somewhere in North Germany photographed by a "liberated" German Rolleiflex medium format camera in Agfa or Kodak Kodachrome color slide film in ca. 1946 or 47.

Many thanks - Interesting info. I see from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Douglas_C-74_Globemaster that only a few of these aircraft were made, and if correct, 'our' aircraft was built in March 47, and retired only 7 years later.
By 1952, the C-74 began to experience shortages of spare parts and increasing maintenance problems. It was recognized by late 1954 that the deterioration of the C-74's components was progressing more rapidly than predicted. Plans were made for the eventual retirement of the Air Force's only fleet of Globemasters.
