Great pictures.

This one confirms what I have been saying for a while. The front ends were assembled of non painted parts, except the shocks, and then painted as one unit.

It makes sense. It had to be machined as part of a set of matched halves, and this way there was less likelihood of distortion as it comes out of the mold and cools.

Are these early or mid Oct 1947?

The chassis looks like it might have 70199 written on it...

I think 80199 June/July 48 is too late for the Summer/Winter lever.
