anybody notice the cool Lanz Eilbulldog crossing in front of the bus?
Those were street tractors built from the 20s to 1960 single cylinder, 2 stroke, 10 liter motors with up to 55HP.

I wonder what was the advantage of that kind of design.

A 10 Liter, 2 stroke motor = about 610 cubic inch motor at only 55 HP

What a pain in the nuts!, ingenious, but almost as much trouble as shoveling up after the horses.
Looks safe too, especially fuelling it as the torch blazes away below

Only 3 moving parts. |
and I believe you could start them in the wrong way...

Does that vw appear to be a little bit abstract? elongated, more like artist illustration from that era..I'MO.

Old photos can curl up, and are oftentimes scanned or photographed without being flattened out properly. It's a judgment call whether to post them or not.
