Is it irony?
He can keep it becuse it's a piece of crap. The Maryland Gov. would want so much in taxes that he wouldn't be able to keep it if it was worth the stated value.

Ya funny. That is the same story I hear when I go to look at vintage stuff. They say the thing is mint. You get there and it is junk. Then the guy says it is mint for a 35 year old vehicle. Everyone sees something different.

Sounds like the studio gets a pretty good deal out of this. They pick up a junk van off the streets of LA, use it in a movie that earns millions and then declare it has a value of $20,000 for a $7,000 tax write off.
